Free Case Evaluation in Arizona · Wood Injury Law

What “free case evaluation” actually means at Wood Injury Law.

A free case evaluation is a five-minute phone conversation with a Wood Injury Law attorney about what happened, what you’ve been told, and what to do next. It is free. It is no-commitment. It does not end with us asking for paperwork.

Call (623) 632-0959 · Free 5-minute consultation · No paperwork on the first call

What happens on the call

You describe what happened. We ask the questions that matter for your specific case — the date, the location, the injuries, what insurance has done so far, what’s been signed. We answer your questions about Arizona law, the timeline, the contingency fee structure, and what to expect.

If we think you have a case worth pursuing, we tell you that and explain the next step. If we don’t think you have a case, we tell you that too — and point you somewhere useful when we can.

If your case is one we’d be a good fit for, we follow up with a more detailed conversation later. If it’s not, we don’t pressure you to sign anything.

What we don’t do on the first call

We don’t ask for paperwork. No medical records, no insurance statements, no police reports. The first call is a conversation, not an intake. If we proceed, paperwork comes later.

We don’t pressure you to sign anything. No fee agreement, no representation contract, no medical authorization. Decisions happen on your timeline, not ours.

We don’t transfer you to a paralegal. The attorney handling cases is the attorney who answers the call. You talk to a real lawyer.

What to have ready

Nothing required. But these help us answer your questions on the first call:

  • Date of the accident
  • General location (the highway, the cross streets, the store address)
  • What injuries you have or are still being evaluated for
  • Whether the at-fault driver’s insurance has called you
  • Whether you’ve signed anything from any insurance company
  • Any settlement offer you’ve received

If you don’t have any of this — call anyway. We can work with whatever you have.

How fast you should call

Today if you can. Especially if:

  • You haven’t given a recorded statement yet (we want to be involved before you do)
  • You haven’t signed any medical authorizations
  • You haven’t accepted any settlement offer
  • An accident happened in the last few weeks
  • The accident involved a government vehicle (180-day notice clock under A.R.S. § 12-821.01)
  • The accident involved a commercial truck (30-day evidence preservation deadline)

If any of those apply, the call gets more urgent. The 5-minute conversation costs you nothing and may save your case.

What if I just have a question?

Call. The first call is for questions. You don’t need to be sure you want to hire a lawyer — most callers aren’t. The conversation helps you decide.

Frequently asked

Is the consultation really free?

Yes. The first call is free, no fee, no obligation. If we take the case, the contingency fee applies — paid as a percentage of recovery, not paid upfront. More about contingency fees.

How long is the call?

Typically 5 to 10 minutes. Some calls go longer when the situation is more complex. We don’t rush.

Will I be talking to an attorney?

Yes. Real attorney, not a screening service. The attorney who answers is the attorney who would handle your case.

What if I’m not in Phoenix?

We represent clients throughout Arizona — Tucson, Flagstaff, Yuma, rural counties. Distance doesn’t change the call.

What if my case is small?

We’ll tell you honestly on the first call. If your case is small enough that an attorney would consume more value than we’d add, we’ll point you to a better path.

What if I’m not sure I want to hire a lawyer?

Most first-call callers aren’t. The conversation is designed to help you decide. No pressure either way.
