MESA, Arizona – Considering the success of recent years, it was inevitable that Wood Injury Law would bring on an additional team member. Katie received her degree from Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law in May of 2019 and successfully completed the bar exam shortly after. Throughout the last three years, her work has focused solely on personal injury cases, an area of the law that she regards with particular fondness. In a story reminiscent of Josh Wood’s own path to a career as a personal injury attorney, Katie Secker initially spent a good deal of time on the other side of the aisle, representing a large insurance company.
However, she eventually made the decision to serve solely on the plaintiffs’ side, because, as she states in her own words, she enjoys “being able to help people who are going through difficult times.” Due to her previous experience defending insurance companies, she is uniquely positioned to anticipate commonly employed strategies, to the benefit of her clients.
Katie’s commitment to helping those in need expands beyond the practice of law, and she spends a good chunk of her free time assisting local shelters for homeless animals.
Ultimately, to Katie, this isn’t just a job. She describes law not as her profession, but as her passion. She is eager to continue to serve individuals affected by personal injuries through her new position as an Associate Attorney at Wood Injury Law, PLLC.
